Confinement food - 补身

Every night before I sleep, auntie will make a tonic soup for me to drink. Sometimes it's those wine tonic soup with chicken, other nights can be dang gui with chicken, or ever fish maw dried scallop with chicken.

My mother being a cantonese has taught me how to love my soup and I simply love drinking all the different soups that auntie is whipping up these days! Some days, my dang gui chicken tastes so good that I wished i had some more!! It tastes like those herbal chicken which we can order at soup stalls but auntie's broth is crystal clear and not "milky" like the outside ones.

soups like these makes me wish that confinement days to be longer.
