Velle Cooks \\ Dinner

Winter Melon Soup
Spinach stir fry with anchovies, garlic slices and gogi berries
stir fry pulled pork (from soup)

Velle Cooks \\ Eggs Benedict

I admit defeat. I can't do Benedict Eggs, so I'm going order this everytime if I have the chance to eat all day breakfast. The poached eggs are really a difficult task for me! I'm not sure whether is it that my eggs are not fresh or what, the eggs will stick to my metal ladle too. So I resorted to using a silicone ladle...but it was still not successful.

And when I was doing my hollandaise sauce, I didn't close the blender cover tight and splatter hollandaise sauce onto my kitchen! Talk about horrendous sauce...not hollandaise.

So my toast, bacon and spinach are ok...just that I can't do my eggs. *cry*

Jade \\ Smiggle Stuff

Jade tells me that she has a new friend in her school bus who wants the same keychain as her. So I asked Jade what does her friend's name first letter starts with?

So we went down to Smiggle to get the letter keychain and Jade was so happy! Because instead of getting 1 keychain, I bought 2 because 2 is cheaper than one.

This little girl is so lucky! While the boys are away, she managed to have shopping time with mummy and daddy, sweets at Cedele (drinks and chocolate cakes), a new unicorn keychain and a pair of shoes from H&M kids!

Jay Cooks \\ Fried Rice

Running out of time and out of ideas. Fried rice!

Happy Mooncake Festival! At Tanjong Rhu

It was an impromptu decision to bring the kids out to carry lanterns. But we did it anyway!
So we packed dinner to go from McDonalds, drove to Tanjong Rhu, we thought that probably there was sufficient lights and many people would be walking around carrying lanterns and OMG we were so wrong! There was hardly anyone and it was so dark!

Fortunately we brought 2 solar powered lamps with us. So we didn't have to eat in the dark...After our dinner, we cut some mooncakes to eat while the kids went around carrying their DIY lanterns from school. Not 100% perfect but it was quite fun!

Science Experiment \\ Paper flowers bloom

capillary action. That's how the paper flower blooms in a tray of water.

Mooncakes

This year, I'm fortunate to receive 2 boxes of mooncakes! One from Intercontinental and another from Fullerton hotel. Intercontinental mooncake had mandarin peels which was quite a unique taste to me. It was definitely a twist to my palette. To be honest, I like the traditional white lotus paste ones better.

Weekend Sundays at their Grandparents

Our usual weekend sundays at spent at Grandparents' place. We usually reached about 11am, 1130-1230pm, 1 hour of swim and play before the kids wash up and have lunch at 1pm. After lunch, the kids will either watch some cartoons on Netfix or play with their mobile phone games. 3 to 4pm, we will start to make our way home and prep for dinner.

Sundays are mostly spent like this. And I already feel so tired when the new week has just started!
