Yellow lenses for children

Yellow lenses provide greater clarity and reduce eye strain for computer users and gaming fans. The recent education programme requires much more time on the computer including little ones like Jade. I purchase yellow lenses for all my three children for them to use when they are on the computers and watching television.

If you want to know where I bought them from, you can easily get them online on Lazada. Just search for children's glasses and you will get a long listing of vendors selling them. Just pick those with many reviews.

City satay

Occasionally when there is an online sale, I will buy some frozen pork and chicken satay and store them in the freezer. Makes a really quick meal for the kids. You can bake them or air fry them to heat up.

If you air fry them, you got to break the ends of the satay sticks to make them shorter to fit them into the basket. Air fry at 180degs for 15 mins.

As we are a family of 6, heating the satay in the oven is the fastest way to go! one batch, all at one shot. 200degs 15mins and don't have to "shorten" the satay sticks. Satay peanut sauce, heat up in saucepan separately. Slice cucumbers and you get both a protein and fibre meal.

Jade | Mother Daughter Activites | Painting finger nails

Bonding time with my little one. Jade likes to have similar things. Matching clothes, bags and shoes. And girly things like painting finger nails and toenails, she love them too! It gets smudges and wears off on the day itself, but she loves them all the same.

I try to put a top coat for protection for her. But it lasts for at most 2-3 days, good enough for her to go to school and show to her girlfriends. I don't do nails for her frequent, just once in a while because it's just something we can do together.

Back home to eat Hub's cooking

So happy to be back home!! And I miss hub's cooking. Told him I wanted to eat "chinese" food and soup. That is because the last 12 days, we never had soup, chinese style cuisine, hawker food, green vegetables and cut fruits. So today hubs made us chicken meatball soup, broccoli with mock abalone and dark soy sauce pork trotter for kids, vinegar style for me!. I feel so so blessed!

The last 12 days, I was not being starved of food but I lost 2 kgs!! In fact there was breakfast, lunch, snack pack and dinner everyday. Although the hours of delivery of the food sometimes were a little haphazard, but it didn't matter much to me. I can still remember after the 6th day after almost every meal was spicy or curry, Jules told me, "Mummy, I really cannot get used to this". Poor fella, he was actually not the picky eater to be honest.

Thankfully hubs packed us some cup noodles and we boiled a kettle of water and the boys had cup noodles for dinner.

and I took leave on the coming Monday to unpack and rest at home.

The last 12 days was quite tiring to juggle in between work, looking after the kids, constant self reminder to take my temperature and upload my particulars, checking the boys on their online school work, physical homework and washing clothes.

We are out!

Waiting outside for hubs to come fetch us! Can't wait to go home.
Hubs took so long to come and pick us...nonetheless, finally we are in the car already and Jade was so happy to be reunited with her 2 brothers...see, she is stuck in between them with a big smile!

Day 12 | All smiles on our second last day

 here's what we ate today

Breakfast - cocktail sausages (they taste full of flour) in ketchup sauce, 2 soft roll buns and 1 super dry hashbrown.

Lunch - Penne tuna, frozen vegetables (peas, corn, carrots), coleslaw and fried fish fillet in spicy sauce.

Dinner - Curry chicken, fried fish fillet, sambal chilli okra aka ladys' fingers and white rice.

Day 11 | What we ate

Breakfast - Fried Yellow Noodles, Samosa and 2 fried fishballs.
Not the kind of breakfast I eat.

Lunch - Briyani rice, curry (again), fried okra aka ladys' fingers (I almost couldn't fathom what it was when I first opened my bento set, I didn't eat because it looked so oily) and fried fish (again).

Dinner - Spaghetti bolognese (YAY!), fried chicken, yellow tumeric sauce fish fillet (can I say yucks?) and boiled vegetables (thank god for some greens!)

Day 10 | What we ate

Breakfast - full of carbs. Ham and cheese sandwich (the only thing i ate), sugar doughnuts and puff pastry.

Lunch - Finally I had a different fish (salmon). Tuna Pasta which I'm not complaining, soft roll bun (no thank you) and cherry tomato cucumber onion salad (greek salad?)

Dinner. No Thank you.

Hubs sent us bubble tea to cheer us up.
He knows that the past 10 days was a difficult period for all of us. I'm just thankful that we are all safe and 2 more days to go! Tomorrow we will be taking our "exit" test.

Day 9 | What we ate

Breakfast - Prata with curry and some puff pastries. When you have curries for lunch and dinner, suddenly prata with curry didn't seem too appetising.

Lunch - same colour food. Where are my greens...I'm beginning to wonder.

Dinner. Why would I want mash potatoes with rice?

Day 8 | What we ate

Breakfast - waffles with scramble eggs and sausages. Waffles mix was too dense, scramble eggs on the dry and hard side. Sausages, just not the kind that we eat at home.

Lunch - olives on rice, chicken curry, potato wedges, beans and corn.

Dinner - Rice with frozen vegetables, steam fish fillet, long beans and grilled chicken. My eldest said he couldn't eat this anymore. So I prepared 2 cups of Nissin noodles for them.

Day 7 | What we ate

Breakfast - beeboon, 2 cherry tomatoes in ketchup and cabbage.

Lunch - Lemon Fish Fillet, Spicy Brinjals and Fried Chicken

Dinner - YAY, today's shell pasta was delicious and so were the big prawns!!! No comments on the soggy waffle potatoes and repeated fried chicken drumlets.

Day 6 | What we ate

Today is Sunday and we cannot go out. Feels kinda sad.
Breakfast - I was so happy to see ham, but OMG, they taste like flour ham. I totally skipped the small hashbrowns (so dry), toasted bun and curry puff. I feel so sad.

Lunch - YAY for the oyster sauce Kailan!!! Fried chicken drumlets which I think was pretty good and sweet sour fried fish fillet with white rice. Today's lunch saving grace was the kailan!!!
Dinner - To be honest I don't eat cauliflower and I had 2 big cauliflowers instead of broccoli (which is my favourite). So sad. Again there was the 2 usual suspects - chicken nd fish fillet, not sure how it was cooked with what seasoning. It's Day 6 and I can't tell them apart anymore. I didn't eat a bite.

Day 5 | What we ate

Breakfast - Beehoon (something edible), 2 fried otah, 2 fried spring rolls. No comments, it probably might be someone's typical breakfast but not for me. Is it me? Nobody eats vegetarian beehoon for breakfast?
Or shouldn't economic breakfast beehoon goes with saucy cabbage, fried sunshine egg and a slice of luncheon meat?

Lunch - YAY! looks decent to me! 2 large prawns which I ate with delight, some onion capsicum salad (it's ok, I can skip this), grilled tough chicken (it's ok too since I have prawns today!!) and dry aglio olio which is acceptable to me. At least this meal is non-spicy and I have seafood!

Dinner - oh no, back to spicy again. Sambal long beans with fried tempeh (kids wouldn't know how to eat tempeh), dunno what sauce prawns and fried fish fillet.

Day 4 | What we ate

Breakfast - Tuna sandwich (ok, i can eat this), potato cubes stir fry with some seasoning (totally not nice) and raw cabbage topped with a fishcake. Weird combo going on here.

Lunch - over cooked vegetables and where are my broccoli? I can see slivers of the florets but I do even have a single stalk of broccoli here. White rice topped with shallots, curry chickem and spicy sweet fried fish fillet.
Dinner - Spiral pasta with red onions, cherry tomatoes and capsicum (doesn't taste like aglio olio style), to be honest, it was not tasty at all, looks colourful though. YAY for the corn cob. Super dried or overly fried several times potato wedges, fried fish fillet with sauce. Sigh...beginning to be a little scared of fried fish fillet.

Day 3 | What we ate

Breakfast - WOW! Chicken congee!!! I love this! Siew Mai - ok, I like these too! Red bean bao, ok, not my favourite. But still ok. Thank you so much!
Lunch on luggage - Black olives on rice (I don't mind but the children wasn't that used to it), there's fresh salad!!! lemon chicken drumlets (not very nice) and salsa fried fish fillet.
Dinner - oh no! spicy again. Very dry potato crockets (I think these are supposedly bergedil, but definitely too dry), white basmati rice with shallots on top, curry vegetables and spicy chicken.

Day 2 | What we ate

Breakfast - Pancakes, baked beans and fried tofu skin? Gosh, this breakfast is really weird. Who eats pancakes with baked beans?
Lunch - OMG, I already told them that I have 2 children and that we eat everything (no special dietary requirements to avoid like peanuts, diary etc) from fish, prawn, pork, beef to chicken, but please don't give us spicy. Today's lunch is spicy curry, fried fish fillet and spicy chicken.

Dinner - steam fish fillet with pesto sauce (I started to dislike this fish fillet), really tough chicken, beans and corn, mushroom risotto which is the only thing I ate. Where are my greens??? sob sob.
