March Holidays - Bangkok Day 2 (Travelling with kids)

Hello!
It's our 2nd day in Bangkok and today we are covering Pratunam Market, Kidzania, After You Dessert, Som Tam Nua and some grocery shopping at Big C Supermarket!

We have breakfast at the hotel everyday as it was included in our hotel stay. Well a good and hearty breakfast is definitely a good start to a brand new day!!!

after our breakfast, we had a short walk to Pratunam Market and I did some shopping for the boys and my girl. As you can see from the photos, I bought 4 leggings for 100 baht, new shoes for the boys which was 350baht each. I bought a front knotted dress for 100 baht, t-shirts for the boys.

The ones which had a 3d plushie sewn onto the t-shirt was 100 baht each, the stripey ones were 240 baht for 3 tees. I also bought 6 pairs of socks for 100 baht for the boys.
above: The boys decked in their new t-shirts from Pratunam Market. Jules chose a T-rex and James is wearing an elephant. I wouldn't have given these t-shirts a second look if not for Jules who pointed out the T-rex and thought it was quite a nice t-shirt. Anyway, we bought too many items to continue to Kidzania and so we went back to the hotel to put our things down and took a Tuk Tuk down to Siam Centre.

The tuk tuk ride was 100 baht. I'm sure it could have been lesser but I reckon that it's still quite affordable and I really didn't want to drag the boys up for another 1km of walking from our hotel to Siam Paragon and hitting Kidzania...probably they would have been so tired that they wouldn't think it's fun anymore.
We bought e-tickets from Klook which was slightly cheaper as compared to buying them on the spot. Adults and children are each given a tag on our wrists. And the kids got some coupons to exchange them to "kidzo" at the bank.
The scene inside was dark, filled with ambulance and fire engine sirens which intimidated them upon entering. James was particularly scared and held tight onto his rabbit. After the boys exchanged their kidzo money, mind you...even parents are not allowed in the bank to help the children.

this made James even more afraid.
anyway, after walking the entire area one round, Jules was asking whether can he go back to the hotel. I almost fainted and explained to him that i had paid good money for him and his brother to enjoy himself at Kidzania the WHOLE DAY and if they are wanting to go back to the hotel, i would be damned pissed. Jules got the message alright. So he was scared...I told him to go and queue for the pilot. And so he agreed reluctantly and asked me after being a pilot, can he then go back...

OMG.
fine. I thought to myself ...at least he gets to pretend play for at least one occupation.
The wait was about 20mins and they only allowed 6 kids at one time to act as a pilot.

and after Jules finished his pilot stunt and earned himself 10 kidzos...he was so excited that he wanted to try out at the sushi place. I was so happy!!!
At the sushi place, the kids were taught that the seaweed had 2 "faces", one was smooth and the other is rough. They even had their hands on experience of making a sushi maki. And we all have Jules' handmade sushi roll for lunch.

James fell asleep....so he missed eating his brother's sushi.
Above: after sushi making, Jules wanted to test out at the construction site and he ended building a wall. Not exactly fun but he earned himself some money...so he was pretty pleased with himself. And after that, he went on to be a delivery boy, cashier at 7-11, fireman, policeman and even a surgeon.

above: Jules being the delivery boy. He was quite smart! He was given 3 items to collect from the individual stores where i told him to do it in a systematic order by going to store 1, store 2 and lastly store 3. He told me " no mummy, we should go store 1 and store 3 because they are located nearer. Then we go to store 2 at the end!"

okay.

above: Jules tried being a cashier at 7-11 and shopper. After that James woke up and we encouraged him to be a fireman, that way at least he gets a chance on the fire engine which we thought was quite an exciting experience.

above: James hugging his rabbit nonetheless. But i thought it was a big improvement for him to participate in at least one of the activity.
Next the kids went on to work at the Petrol Station, pumping gas etc.
James gave up because he was too scared...we went upstairs and Jules wanted to try out the Coca Cola store. After his stint at Coca Cola, the boys finished the bottle which Jules made.

we went downstairs again. This time Jules went on to become a police officer and surgeon.
We started out at 10am and left Kidzania at 5pm!
Went to After You Dessert because firstly I have been craving for their Shibuya Honey toast and secondly it's just downstairs from Kidzania! However this time round they have mango sticky rice honey toast and it was delicious!! we ordered the Matcha Mille crepe cake too and the boys wanted a share a scoop of dark chocolate. The whole bill came up to 464 baht.

after dessert - time for dinner!!!
Went to SomTam Nua, ordered their famous papaya salad which was sour sweet and super spicy. But you get a real kick from it, i tell you. It made my nose run and my mouth hanging for more, even though it was so so spicy! My head started spinning too.

At SomTam Nua, you should also try their signature fried chicken. Almost every table will order this dish. so you just got to try. Other recommendations would be the Grilled Pork Neck and Tom Yum Soup.
after eating so much, we just had to walk our dinner. We walked all the way back to Big C supermarket which was on the way back to our hotel. Bought so much Glico Polky sticks, shrimp chips, Tao Kae Noi, Nestea, MAMA instant noodles - bought the Duck flavour and the Tom Yum flavour. Jules was very sweet and offered to help to carry the groceries back to the hotel.

he's really a sweetie!!!
after we dumped all the groceries back at the hotel, we went out again to a nearby night market. Jules got his girlfriend a my little pony keychain with her name on it whilst James eyed a purple rabbit...whom we later named him Bobby.

and on the way back to the hotel, i bought more snacks! This time is Siam CoCo dried mangoes!
