Hill Street Fire Station

Did you know that you can bring your little ones to the Fire Station Open House? All fire stations has Open House on Saturdays, 2 sessions: 9am-950am and 10am-1050am. For more details, do check out the relevant SCDF websites for more information especially if you are planning to visit the Fire Station in a big group.

The visit at Hill Street Fire Station is a crowd pleaser! It was raining when we got there and there was already a snaking queue forming. When the gates opened, everyone rushed in! It was so crowded!!!

We arranged for a play date with our friend who brought their 2 sons to the visit. Everyone had a jolly good time despite the early showers. There were many live demos on how the fireman donned his protective suit and how fast he could dress up. Other demos included first aid rescue and of course the best one was how the firemen got out from their fire engine and started splashing water at a building that was supposedly on fire and how they rescue the dummy.
Above: look at how many little children there were that morning! Even the parents were looking and learning from the firemen.
Demo above on how to use various equipment. This is a huge pincer to open doors!
All the children climbed onto the fire engine for a group photo!
Jade on a fire rescue mission! Both James and Jade went into a ambulance too!
Loads of freebies were given out to the children like fireman hats and paper cutouts that depicts the different rescue engines.

Above: Finally we have some family photos!
After the fire station open house, we went to Funan Mall for early lunch. Settled ourselves at a Cha Can Teng.
While waiting for their food, the children started folding their rescue engines!
