Mar 2022 | Staycation at Jen Orchard Gateway Day 1

Hello there!

It's the School March Holidays again! We have been so cooped up here in SG that we are planning Staycations just to get away from staying at home, shopping malls or escaping from the hot sweltering weather! After our awesome staycation at Shangri La hotel, the kids were so excited for their next staycay and due to some hiccups, we were planned to stay at Hotel Michael but was cancelled at the very last minute that we had to scramble ourselves to find a hotel just the night before.

We were suppose to check in Hotel Michael on Friday afternoon, on Thus night, we received word that our booking might be cancelled due to third party issues. The kids were so excited and geared up for a staycation during the March Holidays that we couldn't tell them that we may not have a staycation, also we have already booked tickets to Sentosa Luge for Friday evening. We tried to search for many of the hotels at Sentosa so that we can easily make our way to Luge, but many of them were fully booked except for the super super expensive rooms left. Sigh. And to change the dates of the tickets for Luge, each ticket will cost an additional $10. What!?

So before 2359 Thu night, we managed to get a room for ourselves at Jen Orchard Gateway. Located in the heart of our city, it was a close drive down to Sentosa. And because we had booked a timeslot of 630pm for Luge, we couldn't enjoy the club access at Jen Orchard Gateway. Our initial intention was to check into Hotel Michael, settle down, go for a swim and then make our way to Luge and have dinner...

So now change of plans, we checked in at Jen Orchard Gateway, swim and make time to drive down to Sentosa, find parking and then go for Luge and then have dinner, either at Sentosa or Orchard.

We arrived at Jen Orchard Gateway at 3pm but still couldn't check in cos our rooms were not ready. The reception gave us drinks voucher and told us to wait approximately 1 hour before returning back. 1 hour later, the room is still not ready...and we have already booked our pool slot at 330pm!!!

Finally checked in the room at 330pm, we waited about 30mins or more at the hotel lobby...and each room booked have a complimentary gift box.
Everyone loved the pool! although the life guard there was a bit strict. No jumping into the pools, no running on the pool deck and no sitting on the edge of the pool (like this photo above!). Jade was asked to come down after I took this photo.

530pm. Sob, can't make it the Club Access (wine down, chill and relax package). We made our way down to Sentosa for our adventure to Luge!!! The kids were excited and so were we! We have not been to the Luge before and my friends have been telling me that their kids enjoy the ride down!
The skyride up was quite scarey at first, but after the third round up, I wasn't so afraid...yes yes, I truly believe that the older you get, the more scared of death you are.

We only have photos of us taking the skyride up and no photos of us down the car down...cos all our hands were on the bar handles driving down....hahaha

Dinner at the Coastes. We ordered pepperoni pizza, chicken wings, calamari and carbonara. There is a minimum spending here too. The food came and everyone ate well. We ordered all the kids' favourite.

yay! it was a great day and glad that everything went well!
