Staycation \\ Universal Studios

Breakfast dined in. Collection from the concierge. Hubs says that it is relatively easy to order and collect. You will have a choice of either Western or Chinese for breakfast. As you can see from here, we ordered 2 sets of breakfast with coffee and juice.

After breakfast, it was time for swimming! Anyway Universal studios doesn't open too early as there are crowd control management and our staggered timing to go in was after lunch.

See my boys having crazy ideas of blowing air into their swimsuits to create a float! James looks like he has a neck donut float!
Even hubs joined in the fun....
2pm: time to head into Universal studios! We tried almost all of the rides as the queues there were pretty quick and not many people around.

First ride was the madagascar boat ride which Jade was abit hesitant when queueing as she didn't know what she was into. But after the ride, she told me that she was ok. Next up was the Enchanted Dragon ride, OMG, i didn't know it was a roller coaster ride!!! Both me and Jade were so shocked. When Jade came out from the ride, her eyes were teary....I think she had a fright. Poor little dear...i felt so bad for her.

Above: Jules sits right in front of the dragon roller coaster. He says it was the best ride he enjoyed in USS and he sat twice.
After the dragon ride, there was a puss-in-boots ride which Jade said she was ok because she sat in between myself and Jules. So she felt "secured".
Next Up Rapids Adventure, this one Jade said she didn't want to ride and so the both of us waited outside while the boys went in with hubs. The wait was pretty long, I think both Jade and myself waited about 45mins outside...and of course we snacked a little cos we were to tired and hungry.
Into Jurassic world, there was another flying in the air ride which the queue was too long, so we took this "baby" dinosaur ride which Jade exclaimed it as her favourite! But most of the time, both her hands were grabbing the bar tightly and she told me to operate the button to go up and down, she wouldn't let go of the bar handle.

hah! Have you tried this vintage car ride? This is a first for us...it was secluded in one corner and we almost missed it.

After the bumble bee 4D ride, again Jade and I sat outside waiting. The kids were treated to some snacks and we were "transported" to the streets of New York.

There was an elmo in the dark ride? That one was pretty colourful and Jade liked it as well. Finally we went into one of the bigger shops for some airconditioning relief. We sat by the roadside as we were actually quite tired by now...and hubs went to get ice-cream for all of us.

Our 2nd round around USS, this time we walked really fast. It started to drizzle a little so we sat the indoor Merry Go Round and of course, Jules went on his favourite dragon roller coaster.

Our only photograph with the mascot and we had to abide to the social distancing measures. We were told to stand 1m infront of the mascot.

Dinner we took away some beef noodles from LeNu which was very good! and they had 20% discount for takeaways...there was quite a crowd outside waiting for their food too. And no guesses, someone bought a new toy from the shops, here's introducing abby cadabby to our family. She is a 4 year old, fairy in training.

Lunch before Staycay

Staycation \\ Equarius Hotel > Check In

June Holidays 2021

We booked a 3D2N staycation at Equarius Hotel, Resorts World Sentosa. It was a bundle package with 2 adult tickets to Universal Studio and Sea Aquarium. It was a perfect getaway for us and the kids. We used our Singapore Rediscover Vouchers to purchase the kids tickets to USS and Sea Aquarium.

When Phase 2 Heightened Alert kicked in end of May 2021, we were really hoping and praying that things would get better as the social gathering was downsized to 2 persons. We didn't want to cancel our staycation because it was something that the kids were so looking forward to. So we waited and waited...and we were so so lucky!!! The weekend where we had booked for our staycation, the measures were lifted to increase social gatherings to 5 persons! But we still had to dine in for all our meals, but that didn't deter us from having a great time at Sentosa!

Check in can be made personally at the e-kiosk. And there was ample space for waiting while 1 family member goes to the e-kiosk to check in.
Check in was relatively smooth and we got our rooms pretty quick, say about 30 mins wait? Equarius rooms were definitely spacious as compared to other hotel rooms in Singapore. We had a large balcony overlooking Adventure Cove and cable cars from Harbourfront to Sentosa. It was a beautiful and scenic view.
Above: Some rations which we brought in case of emergencies. You never know when a kid gets hungry and you know that you can't dine in immediately. So we packed quite a few different types of dry snacks to pack when we are out and about. For the adults, we packed some instant noodles, instant pasta and soup, just incase we are not able to find some food for takeaways.
Both Jules and James were super excited, watching TV and jumping on the bed. This view was taken from the bathroom where there is a huge window overlooking into the bedroom. While the boys were jumping on the bed, hubs blew up Jades' unicorn float as we managed to book our swimming pool slot later in the afternoon at 5pm.
5pm: The kids went for a cold dip before we headed out to look for dinner. The pool was a short walk from the hotel wing. Not many people were using the pool so we had many photos with the beautiful backdrop of the beach villas and cable cars.

630pm: Time to head out to search for our dinner, factoring time to buy dinner and bring back to our rooms to eat. There is a shuttle bus every 15mins that goes around RWS, so it's very convenient.

haha...unanimous choice - McDonalds. We bought 3 happy meals where each of our kids had an avenger plushie keychain and burgers for us.

What I really like about Equarius Hotel amidst this pandemic period is the large space given for families like us (with 3 kids) and a table sofa settee for us to eat properly as a family. So families with 3 kids or more like us, we definitely recommend here!
