Need a glass of wine. Shifting, unpacking, packing, travelling to and fro. Not an everyday task for me and hubs. No wonder, people hire people to pack their stuff into boxes and unpack into the cupboards.

CNY Day 14 | Gathering of Friends

 

Not many weekends left for the Lunar New Year! For me, as I get older, my circle of friends become smaller who encompasses similar thinking and shared common friends, conversation and hobbies. This group of friends who came visiting are my first working colleagues on my first built project and we have become steadfast friends. 

Anyway, the conversation goes on families, children, career, travels and most importantly, our love for food and wine!

CNY Day 6 | Mervyn's Place

Happy Lunar New Year!!! Day 6 and we are celebrating it over at our friend's place Faber Gardens before they move to Jadescape. So nice to have everyone bringing their children for gathering! The past 2 years, it was not possible due to COVID and restrictions of the limited numbers during a gathering.

We brought Lou Hei over from Fairprice and MLXG (spicy and non-spicy). The kids all gathered and were playing together. The older kids retreated back to their rooms after the dinner. This is the true "age gap". Anyway, fortunately, both Elliot and Nathan are able to play with Jules, James and Jade in the living room or self entertained themselves while the adults gathered at the dining table for wine and snacks.

Christmas Dinner with Friends

Christmas Dinner, here's what we brought to the table:

1.  Oysters with lemons (us)
2. Chacuterie Christmas Tree (us)
3. Chocolate Eclairs and Durian Puffs (us)
4. Tiger Prawns (shux and ray)
5. Burrata Parma Ham Balsamic Salad (shux and ray)
6. Orange Country Chicken (brenda and mervyn)
7. Pecan Pie (brenda and mervyn)
8. Gingerbread house (by my neighbour)
9. 4 bottles of wine

The ladies are prepping the dinner feast while the 2 gentlemen are talking at the living room with Jade. Shux actually washed the vegetable salad here and when she asked for a vegetable spinner, I actually told her that we haven't any!!! Anyway the burrata and parma ham salad was insanely good.

The boys have gone to their grandparents for an overnight stay. YAY!

last but not least to end the night with a gift exchange. Mervyn gifted us his Tilly airplant.
