Paper Cutting | Rabbits

Weekend activity before the Lunar New Year. This year we are ushering the Rabbit! Godma sent a video on how to do rabbit paper cutting. It was quite easy so I showed the children the video and set them to their tasks.

Tea Break - I have a stash of Tang Yuan in the freezer which I didn't managed to cook during Tong Zhi (Winter Soltice) and hubs was telling me that I could perhaps turn those dumplings to fried sesame balls, something which he said he enjoyed to eat when he was young. What a great idea, so I boiled the dumplings, coated them with white sesame seeds and popped them into the air fryer to toast the sesame seeds! And ta-duh! I have fried sesame seed peanut balls!

DIY Birthday card for porpor

No school today because it is Teacher's Day!
Happy Teacher's Day to all the wonderful teachers. A job that requires love and patience.

I took leave today because the September School Holidays begins now! And today before departing for Desaru, we had a hearty breakfast and the kids did up a birthday card for porpor, whose birthday is this coming Wednesday.

Jules did the brown envelope, James did the spots on the envelope and Jade did most of the quilling.

above: some photos of Jade's braided hair, my helper does a wonderful and neat job from braiding Jade's hair. This is something that I cannot do.

Jade \\ Hairstyle and Diamond Painting

Bought another unicorn diamond painting for Jade to do during the March Holidays and the boys also took turns to do it for her when she got bored with it. So this was how the kids spent their saturday weekend.

Weather can be so hot, and I got overboard with keeping Jade's hair from flying all over her face with too many hairclips. I think it's a cross between a chignon bun and a little hair weaving with lots of hairclips.

A chignon bun which I tried to do on Jade's hair. hahah....forget what I wanted to achieve, as long as it keeps her hair up.

Jules James and Jade \\ DIY tee

Eliz's mummy bought plain tee shirts for the kids from Uniqlo and some fabric markers. Such an ingenious idea!!!

What the kids drew

Jules drew a space theme on his tee, satellites, rocket, earth, stars and all.

James drew a airport theme on his tee, Changi airport with a runway, clouds, sky and an aeroplane that stretches front to the back. Really interesting!

Jade on the other hand, drew on the back of her tee-shirt and only realised it till it was too late.

So there's a pattern here. Jules back of t-shirt is empty, James back of t-shirt has half of the end of an aeroplane, Jade back of t-shirt which she claims is the prettiest has her hand outline with mini hearts and a little house. The front of her t-shirt was almost empty.
