Happy Mooncake Festival! At Tanjong Rhu
It was an impromptu decision to bring the kids out to carry lanterns. But we did it anyway!
So we packed dinner to go from McDonalds, drove to Tanjong Rhu, we thought that probably there was sufficient lights and many people would be walking around carrying lanterns and OMG we were so wrong! There was hardly anyone and it was so dark!
Fortunately we brought 2 solar powered lamps with us. So we didn't have to eat in the dark...After our dinner, we cut some mooncakes to eat while the kids went around carrying their DIY lanterns from school. Not 100% perfect but it was quite fun!

Mooncakes
This year, I'm fortunate to receive 2 boxes of mooncakes! One from Intercontinental and another from Fullerton hotel. Intercontinental mooncake had mandarin peels which was quite a unique taste to me. It was definitely a twist to my palette. To be honest, I like the traditional white lotus paste ones better.

Jelly Mooncakes
hello! have you tried jelly mooncakes?
This year, Godma gifted us a box of konnyaku jelly mooncakes which are slightly sweet (great for elders) and super Q to the bite. And the level of details on the flowers are amazing!!! I only got to know that every petal is injected one by one with a needle...OMG. This is so time consuming and 100% handmade.
The jelly mooncakes comes in 2 flavours and we absolutely love the osmanthus flavour which is fragrant and so traditional!
here's where Godma bought the jelly mooncakes from: @JoyousJellyArt
do support our locals!
The jelly mooncakes comes in a long box with 4 individual mooncakes wrapped. Even the box looks super festive and cute.
