BOXING DAY - 26 Dec 2019
Breakfast is included in our stay at The Residence Bintan. Children under 6 is free to stay, so for Jules who is 7 this year, we had to pay a surcharge for him, but it's quite affordable so we don't mind paying for his meals. Both restaurants The Dining Room and Rica Rica were opened for breakfast since it was the festive season, usually breakfast is only served at The Dining Room.
You get to try a wide variety of continental breakfast. Eggs are freshly cooked on the spot the way you like it, there are sausages, bacon and beans for a real hearty meal. For kids, there's danish, cereal, toast and even chinese mouth gets to eat porridge and soup noodles.
After breakfast, we all went out to Rica Rica outdoor dining deck which overlooks a really pretty lily pond.

On the way back to our villa, we strolled along the beach and there were many hammocks tied from coconut tree to coconut tree. The kids climbed onto them and swung like never before. Hmm, can't remember whether have they ever been on a hammock before!
and it's BACK TO THE POOL!
and after the swim, we all went for a game of UNO! yes we brought card games to entertain the kids. And when we play games, it's best accompanied with snacks!
Loser had to stick seaweed on their faces!! LOL. But we didn't waste the seaweed because they were so delicious so the kids all wanted to lose so that they get to eat the seaweed after sticking it on their faces!
By afternoon, the kids went back to building sandcastles!!
About 3pm, we decided to head down to the beach because it was low tide and you can practically walk out quite far!
The Residence Bintan has 2 swings set out in the waters and the waters was only knee high so it was relatively easy to walk into the sea and we had some family photos by the swings. This 2 swings are really popular with the residents, must queue to get our turn on it.

it's practically no sea water at all here!!
The boys went on a hermit crab hunt, dugged a hole and put all their hermit crabs there.
And we are back for an evening swim after strolling the beach
Had an early dinner at the Pool Bar which serves finger food, pizzas, beer, cocktail and mocktails for adults and milkshakes and juices for the kids. The staff were very friendly here and whilst waiting for your food, you get to eat popcorns for free!
The boys had several rounds of table soccer while waiting for the fries.
At The Residence Bintan, they have a sundown service where they came to do our beds, clean the room and gave us a plate of Madeline. Thumbs up!
