Jules #5 - Mount E's Extensive Menu!!!

WOW!
I'm impressed with the extensive menu at Mount Elizabeth!
They have chinese full diet, malay full diet, western full diet, indian full diet, light diet, vegetarian and soft diet.

And you can choose coffee, tea or juice - apple, grapefruit, orange.

Then you can choose fruit or dessert!!!

and it's totally different everyday!

and hubs gets to eat too...he's called the "Lodger" on his order chit

Jules #2 - Delivery

9 May (1030am - 6pm):
I was on MC for 3 days due to a flu virus and was having blocked nose and a serious cough with lots of deadly phlegm. Late in the afternoon, I What's App hubs to tell him that i was having some contractions and only happens when i stood up, when i was sitting down on the couch resting, i was fine.
So i told him not to worry, probably it was braxton hicks since it was not regular = false labour.

Dad and Mum came to bring me for a McDonald's breakfast and i told them about the contractions as i waddled myself to the car. Walking was abit painful for me then...

Hubs came home and we went to Alexandra Village for some seafood because i felt like eating seafood after watching 世界那麼大 , they were showing so much 'live' seafood!! SLURPS! So we ordered stingray and squids and a plate of vegetables...as we ate, i was telling hubs about my false labour the afternoon and hubs still can joked:
haha... maybe this will be your last meal before you go into the slaughter house!

10 May (around midnight)
I was feeling the "Braxton hicks" again. Told hubs and i decided to sleep it off, thinking "whoa...so this is how it feels like..die, tomorrow must go to work already, how to tahan this kind of menstrual cramp and work at the same time???"

Hubs told me to see how, probably just take leave all the way and wait till delivery. So i said ok and he went to work on his laptop beside me in bed while i snooze away.

10 May (4am)
I started to have contractions again...hubs just went to bed only and so noticed that i kept frequently going to the toilet. He asked me whether is it my waterbag burst but i said no and that i was relieving myself from the pressure of the contraction. I was quite sure i hadn't burst my waterbag although hmm...maybe the contractions did make me feel abit blur about it. Anyhow, hubs called gynae and insisted that i had burst my waterbag...gynae said to come into the hospital. i was so unsure and didn't want to have a false labour, admit to hospital then wait have charges and cost me unnecessary expenditure...so i told him i will wait for awhile...so hubs started tracking my contractions...and one hour later (5am), he told me that i was almost having a contraction every 5 mins!!! I said...erm...ok then i go shower first...hoping to buy time and wait till the contraction stop.

But it didn't.

so i told myself who am i kidding...better go to the hospital!

10 May (6am) Admission
I reached Mt Elizabeth and walked all the way to the delivery suite instead of being wheelchaired because i rejected it. shucks so silly when i think about it now!!!
The nurse on duty (Tho) was so nice, saw me and quickly attended to me and asked me to lie down and gave me a cup to pee. Then i saw i had some bloody show in my pee!!! OMG!
Then she checked me and i was 4cm dilated!
Nurse said since it was my first labour, i still have 6cm to go so means 6hours to 1pm!! I might become a mother in the afternoon!!!
Soon gynae arrived, in fact she said she reached the hospital earlier than us! And asked us how come we are so slow, so i said that i took one hour to decide whether to come in or not...then she said i was a silly girl!!! Just come in if there's any pain! So she checked me and i was 7cm dilated!!! OMG!!! and the Anesthetist wasn't even here yet.
This sent all the nurses on shift on a frenzy because i dilated 3 cm in half hour...and everyone came to aid. Another nurse put me on IV drip, another gave me something to poo, and afterwhich another nurse gave me a pee bag and she exclaimed : OMG! i can see the crowning!

DOCTOR!!!!
10 May (755am) Delivery
I delivered my first newborn -

Warren Jules Goh at 07:55 AM, 3.1kg, 50cm long and head circumference 33cm.
Al natural.

this was me at 6am...and 1h 55mins, Jules was borne into this world.

Hubs had the gracing ceremony - cutting of the umbilical cord and Jules was crying for all his might

After weight and length was taken, a little footprint was stamped for remembrance!

see his little blue print foot?

Pregnancy #63 - 37 weeks and Cramping

Last night i had the worse cramps ever!
Almost once every hour from midnight till 4am in the morning.
I had to go the toilet every time to ease myself, thinking that it might ease the pressure off from my pelvic and i felt so hot all over and uncomfortable. I've never felt these "menstrual cramps" before since i was pregnant...it's almost like prophecy from my gynae who i just visited this Monday and she asked me whether have i started feeling any contractions of sorts lately. And I said not yet...and as i was down with flu and cough, she gave me 3 days MC to rest plus a bottle of cough syrup for me to eat. NOW it's all coming true!!!

This morning i was suffering from contractions now and then but never rhythmic or constant.
The cramps came on and off for a minute or so. I suspect it's Braxton hicks...but can't imagine once i go back to work tomorrow how will i feel!

At least now that I'm home resting, I can just move to the sofa or to the bed to rest for awhile when I'm having my major cramps.

Besides suffering from leakage, I suspect I'm having loose bowel movements too!
All major signs that the baby is coming soon as it's preparing me for my BIG TIME LABOUR!!!

so confusing!!!
Really wish we all know when the baby is due!

Pregnancy #61 - 36 weeks

hubs and I make it a point to try to take some of my pregnancy photos for keepsake, preferably on a weekly basis now that i'm starting to balloon. Previously it was a monthly photo-taking as there wasn't much progress that can be seen by the naked eye.

I really want to track this part of my life's journey... it's such a big change in both of our lives. Sometimes we wonder whether are we ready or not. But we tell ourselves that this is what we wanted and planned for right from the beginning...so when it comes, it comes!

My baby has been a real kicker i must say!!!
He kicks so often and somersaults so much in my tummy that i feel jolts all the time...when i do my kicker count, i can finish 10 counts in less than 10 mins!

But I'm glad that he's enjoying his little one bedroom studio apartment! As dad calls it his 'swimming pool'.

so far i haven't felt any braxton hicks at all!!! Should i be feeling any??? cos my gynae just asked me at my last check up...and she also secretly asked hubs whether was i eating regularly or not because I haven't been putting on much weight!

since my pregnancy, i have only put on 9 kilos so far and baby weighs 2.5 kilos now!!!
Anyway, as long as baby is healthy, safe and sound. That is the most important thing to me now!

^_^

POSER MUM

Pregnancy - Baby Car Seat (Maxi Cosi)

After our PPE gathering at Group Therapy, we headed down to Singapore Expo to take alook at the baby fair where I bought 2 more nursing bras. We also checked out the baby car seat, one of the outstanding items in our baby list.

In the end, we decided to buy our baby car seat from Baby Hyperstore.
There were many colours to choose from, but since this babyseat is only going to serve us from 1 month - 9 months...which isn't very long, we decided to go economical and buy the one that is on sale.

So we bought the maxi cosi Purple Blossom which was the 2011 edition and on sale for $269 instead of the usual $304.

Plus we still have to buy an adaptor from Motherworks to fit this car seat to our Stokke stroller which is another sum of money again.

Pregnancy - Medela Freestyle Breast Pump

Bought the Medela Breast Pump online for $500 from agapebabies...and self collected at Old Airport Road Food Market.

I heard many mothers, friends and even from colleagues that they are using this product to express their milk out.
Hope this works!

and they were so small that the booties got caught in the wheels of the washing machine! hahaha...that was so hilarious!

Pregnancy #54 - Fabric Hot Air Balloon

Posted some of previous handmade hot air balloons on facebook and they have been getting rave comments and reviews!!

Made this for one of my colleagues because she wants one...And I'm still in the mood of sewing so why not!

this time, i made one sort of a Princessy theme with lace trimmings along the girth of the Hot Air Balloon for a more feminine touch. I also chose a pink cum red fabric with stripes...the past few ones i did were all blue...so this one is a one-off! And i also added a button on top cos that's where I'm going to put a little string into a loop so that she can hang it wherever she wants.

getting really used to making these things that within half an hour i can finish one!

hope she likes it!
