Pregnancy #2 - Jamu

after 8 days of delivery, the centre finally got me a masseuse for my Jamu and the masseuse couldn't make it for the time which i had requested.

sigh.

here's how the session went
1) massage engorged breasts
2) start with back, she works on both of your legs, back and butt.
3) next you face upwards, she will work first on your hands and arms, both legs and finally the stomach.
4) Last she will massage your forehead and head.
Massage is using the Citra body lotion. You will get a tingling hot feeling once she finishes rubbing it on you.

After the full body massage, she will use the hot stone to massage your body, so its face downwards again for the full body back then face up for the front.

Lastly, she will add the ginger to put on your forehead first followed by your tummy. This is the crucial part for the slimming!!!

I asked my masseuse what is the reason for putting on my forehead - obviously i need no slimming there!!! She said it is to prevent migraines in future when I grow old, also it helps to prevent post natal depression too.

WOW. didn't know ginger is so useful huh!

The session ended with the tummy binding as shown in the photo above. Sorry I couldn't get a full shot but this will have to do (as this is how far my hand can stretch for a snapshot!), it's a criss cross of knots working down and up again. So it's twice as tight.

Hope it works as well as the first pregnancy!

DIY - James' BUNTING

I started this bunting about 2 weeks before my delivery while my parents were away in Europe and I had to work from home. But I only managed to sew to the letter M halfway and the project was put aside as I had to return back to work.

After the delivery of bb James, the day when i was discharged out, I went back to my sewing project and finished the remaining last few letters and here it is!

viola!

bb James' bunting.
a mixture of sewing machine and hand sewn blanket stitches. Nonetheless, home made and DIY.

James - Special Delivery!

James - arrived just 2 days after Valentines' day. I think it's ok as I was thinking it would be quite cliche for a boy to be born on Valentines' day. So here he is, weighing at 3.25kgs, 50cm long and head circumference at 34cm.

Jules and his grandparents came over to visit in the afternoon. Jules was particularly excited about having a brother although I'm not very sure that he has fully understand the meaning of having a brother.

Jules was very pleased with his gift though, something which we bought in advance for Jules and told him that it was his brother who gave it to him. When he tore the part that showed a train, he went "hey hey!" and laughed out loud. He was so happy!!! He quickly tore open his present.

I think James looks every bit like Jules when he was just a newborn. Same hairstyle, same wrinkled look, the same mouth and skin colour.

same. same. same.

James - Waiting for his arrival

I arrived at the hospital at 1130pm with only 1 cm dilated. Was put on the CTG scan to monitor my contractions to see whether was it a true labour or just braxton hicks. Half an hour later, the nurse came to read my chart and she said most probably it is true labour as I was having a very rhythmic contraction, at every 5 min interval.

She called my gynae and soon gynae arrived.
This little plaster is so cute! has a little man on it!

2:00am i was 7cm dilated with epidural in my blood stream.
2:10am i was 9cm dilated and ready to go into delivery!

2:38am - I brought a new life into this world - Arrival of baby James.

Lunar New Year Day 03

Today will be a less hectic day for us!
Just going to meet Jules' godma who is also my cousin for lunch with her friends at 313 Somerset Din Tai Fung for Lou Hei and Xiao Long Bao. *slurps*

it's been a long time since i ate Xiao Long Bao!!!
After Jules' had his shower, hubs is bringing him down to let him play by himself while we get ourselves ready and his stuff to go out.

and we are on our way to meet Jules Godma!!!
Whoa..so many people!!! and the waiting time for all kinds of noodles or rice is half an hour's wait. For Xiao Long Baos, it's an hour's wait!!! Anyway, we quickly ordered our mains and lou hei and told the waitress that we don't mind whichever comes first, mains or lou hei as long as the food gets to the table.

Din Tai Fung has its own children ware! Jules is enjoying himself, make believe and feeding himself.

And while waiting, Jules is peeking into his godma's handphone.
Cousin took a photo of us (hubs says that he can't tell that I'm already 9months preggy from our photo!!) and of Jules whose shirt is so long that looks like he is not wearing any shorts or pants!

YAY! The Lou Hei is here!!! and they don't have the crispy biscuit which Jules loves alot...they only have fried tapioca stripes. I think the Lou Hei here is not wet enough, not enough of the plum sauce.
slurps. my beef bowl. Too much noodles for me, so I donated some to hubs. hohoho.
The beef stock was done really well and the beef brisket was very tender.
After lunch, I need something to cool my throat. I'm actually due any time now and craving for all things cold. I feel so hot and heated at times. So as usual, everyone usually listens to the pregnant mum...heehee. This is really when i get to be "queen". I really wanted to eat ice-cream and everyone followed me to Orchard's Central Cold Stone Creamery where I ordered a waffle Strawberry something something. One of their signatures.
lastly. Photo of Jules and his Godma!

Lunar New Year Day 02

It's the 2nd day of the Lunar New Year! So fast time flies and soon it's going to be back to work again!!!

Here's Jules lying on his playmat, wearing his new clothes - a new Ralph Lauren shirt which we bought from Hongkong Citygate Outlet mall. He's rewearing his shorts again. hahah as we only bought him one for the New year.

 Photos of me and Jules
I bought this lovely peach coloured peek-a-boo off shoulder long dress from a shop in Raffles Citylink. And my shoes are bought during the Zara sale.

close up on me and Jules who didn't smile for the camera.
We arrived my parents place around 12noon plus and handled 2 mandarin oranges for Jules to wish his grandparents prosperity and good luck!

Jules exchanging his mandarin oranges with his gong gong and popo. Popo was so pleased to receive the oranges from Jules and Jules even clasped his 2 little hands together to wish her "gongxi gongxi".

Next stop, it was time to visit MIL side of the family in Hougang. Jules is very facinated with his cousin's Nintendo.
Then it was back to my mother's relatives' place in Jurong west extension! Phew the weather was so hot and the journey there was so long.... but Jules was so happy to see his grandparents again, so it was really worth the while.
Evening time came and it's time to head back North again. This time to Ang Mo Kio where we met up with hubs' primary school friends for a new year gathering. Jules is seated here together with 10 month old Asher. Jules is crinkling his nose here, that's his 'latest' smile.
All the kids were watching cartoon on the telly while the adults were having wine and New Year goodies.
That's all of us wishing you all a Happy and Prosperous New Year!!!
