10D9N | Korea Seoul Day 3 | Gwangjang Market and Ikseondong Cafes

10am: Gwangjang Market - here to search for the famous Netflix ahjumma!
OMG, i didn't know Gwangjang market was so big, almost gave up searching for the Netflix knife cut noodle auntie until I saw a huge stall bigger than the others at the end of one lane. YES! we found her and her stall was the only one full house. We were quite fortunate that we didn't have to queue.

She really looks the same, dress the same like in the Netflix! And while we were eating, she was busy making knife cut noodles in front of us. We ordered kimchi and non-spicy pork chives dumplings (mandu) and 2 bowls of kalguksu noodles.

1030am: Famous Jayeondo Salt Butter Bread at Ikseon-dong. We were walking along the streets of Ikseon-dong, hoping to find the Cheese Industry and Cheongsuodang Cafe on a Saturday morning. This little cafe is fronted by the bread and coffee sold in separate Hanok (Korean Traditional House) with a little garden setting in the middle. So there is one queue for the bread and another queue for the coffee.
Certificate by patissier Mr.chun
Every bread  order comes in a paper bag, tied lovingly with a "certificate". OMG, the bread was so soft and so fluffy and the taste was so so delicious. They use wheat from Canada, premium butter (which explains the taste!) and sea salt from France.
Jules, James and Jade all enjoyed their bread at a corner of the garden, basking in the sunlight as the weather was very very cold. Both hubs and I each had a hot cup of black Americano.

Above far left: see the throngs of people hoarding around the little shop!

11am: Cheongsoudang Cafe! A beautiful cafe in ikseon-dong Hanok Village. We took some photos in the courtyard and had a quick look around the insides and left because we were still too full from the salt bread. However if you are here for desserts, I heard that their castella cakes are worth the try,

1130am: Cheese Industry. Ok I'm a little upset with this cafe. Minimum order of one drink for every sitting person including children. My kids were really too full to drink . I was going to order 3 cheese pastries/cakes to share but the counter staff didn't allow my children to sit inside. I was so upset that I decided to leave and put back the pastries and cake where I took them from.
