Good Morning Seoul!
Today's Itinerary
1. Cafe Onion Anguk
2. Gyeongbokgung Palace
3. Osulloc Teahouse Bukchon
4. Dinner at Maple Tree house (Korean BBQ)
Cafe Onion at Anguk is in a hanok interior. We arrived at 9am and already there was a snaking queue. The wait in the cold -15 degree weather was really unbearable but there was no compromise.
So sad, when we were there queueing for our pastries, the signature Pandoro was sold out and the new ones were not out from the bakery yet. so sad so sad. But I have to say, the other buns and pastries were very good looking and they taste delicious too. There was this super black and one bun which hubs took, looked damn ugly but it tasted so nice!Above: see jade (middle photo). One mouth eating bun, other hand taking another piece.
1140am: Time to change into our Korean traditional costumes. Bought our rental outfits from Klook before we came to Seoul. It is quite easy to get your tickets from the kiosk right at the entrance of the rental outfit store. Once you have your ticket, you can go straight to the counter lady and she will give you a ticket on your outfit. Hairdo is free and top up for something more fancy. Little bags are also available for top up.

Ta-duh! Very fast and simple.
The rental shop is just opposite Gyeongbokgung. We visited the Palace grounds from 12noon to about 130pm and we were too cold to continue. The weather was sunny but it was freezingly cold.
240pm: Making our way to Osulloc Teahouse and passed by this tteokbokki store which we visited in 2019, 4 years ago. And there were so many people huddling around this little store to buy food. Not sure whether is it that we are hungry or the cold weather, but today's tteokbokki was delicious!! I don't remember it being so nice 4 years ago.
250pm: Reached Osulloc Teahouse. The landscape was really pretty. The cafe is on the 2nd storey and there is a wide variety of drinks and eye-candy snacks. We ordered sticky rice that came with 4 different sauces and green tea waffles with a scoop of green tea ice cream. Bought matcha swiss roll, hot matcha tea and tangerine tea.
Nobody was sitting out in the verandah because it is too cold.
Samdayeong Jeju Tangerine tea - so pretty, came with an hourglass to time the infusion of our tea leaves.
Osulloc products are sold on the 1st storey where I bought 2 jars of green tea spread, 4 boxes each of matcha cookies, waffles and chocolates.
Dinner at Maple Tea House for korean BBQ and bumped into Eliz and her family here! Such a small world! We ordered sliced beef, pork, jumbo beef rib bone soup and kimchi stew.
