7D7N Khao Yai & Bangkok - Jok Prince, Flat White Coffee and Roast at the Commons

Our last day in Bangkok already! Breakfast was at Jok Prince (Michelin Bib Gourmand) and it is touted to be the best porridge in Bangkok. The porridge is smooth with a unique smoky aroma, topped with a raw egg. We reached about 8am, and soon after a small queue starts to form outside the store.

After breakfast, we headed back to our hotel to pack and check out. We left our luggage at the hotel concierge and made our way for lunch.

12noon: Flat White cafe. This super white minimalist cafe with lovely curves from ceiling to floor. It was an instagrammable spot!

Above: Even their drinks are pretty too!

After our drinks at Flat White Cafe, we walked down to The Commons. Had our 2nd lunch and last meal in Bangkok at Roast. 4 years ago, we were also here with the boys, today with Jade!

Goodbye Thailand, we went home with smiles!

7D7N Khao Yai & Bangkok - Yok Zod Noodle, Pratunam Market, Chicken Rice

If you are in the Pratunam area, and craving for noodle other than Pad Thai and Boat noodles, you can try Yok Zod The Noodle! They serve Char Siew wanton noodles here and super similar to Singapore ones!

After our breakfast, we walked through Pratunam Market because the boys wanted to visit it. Yesterday we came here just with Jade while the boys stayed in the hotel room to watch television. As usual, the boys complained hot and what-nots. And we only bought a 4x4 rubik's cube for them.

If you are in Pratunam area, you most probably will see this neon green sign board (Kuang Heng) for chicken rice and they sell chicken satay too! We tried it, and it was quite good, especially the black sauce with chilli. And I didn't know that there was another chicken rice store just a few blocks down, pink colour signboard. And that one is a Michelin Bib Gourmand recommended store - Go Ang Kaomunkai Pratunam. Note to self: Next time to try that chicken rice!

Above: went to Platinum Foodcourt to buy some food. The kids ate sushi while hubs and I shared the oyster omelette and pork knuckle. Hubs was down with food poisoning after that for the whole evening and night. So we stayed in the hotel, anyway it was drizzling outside. We actually made plans to go to Asiatique for a ferry ride and some dinner cum night market experience. But it's ok since we all went before, just that Jade hasn't. Sorry Jade, another time.

7D7N Khao Yai | Bangkok - Lok Yun, Khao Kha Moo trok Sung, Bounce, Rung Rueang Pork Noodles and Thipsamai

7am: Rise and shine, our first morning in Bangkok city!

8am: Breakfast at Lok Yun, we took a taxi there.
With a history of more than 80 years, people visit for their Thai Style American breakfast with items of Bread with Butter and Sugar, French toast, and Egg Custard Bread with Kaya.

If you ask me, I love their soft bread and "ya-kun" style coffee.
They served ice water to our kids and hot tea for the adults. Super nice service.
Above: Easy breakfast menu in English, just point and order! The boys in matching Mickey Mouse tees from Uniqlo.
Above: Our butter sugar toast and family photo while waiting for our breakfast to come. Jade and I are in matching tees from Cotton On!

10am: Managed to get a taxi back to Pratunum market, dropped the boys back at the hotel as they both wanted to watch television. Jade, hubs and I went shopping. Bought a pair of "crocs" for Jade.

Above: our shopping haul from Pratunam Market
1pm: Lunch at Khao Kha Moo trok Sung (pork trotter rice).
This was so good and "chinese" style. After eating a few days of thai food, you will start to miss Singapore Chinese food. We ordered their soup - pickle bitter gourd soup, intestines, port trotter and beancurd.

After lunch, we head to EmQuartier, brought the kids to Bounce to let some energy out! Took the train there. Super convenient. We bought the 2 hour play tickets.

3pm - 5pm: BOUNCE!

After the kids' Bounce, we made our way to Rung Rueang Pork noodles (Michelin Bib Gourmand) to eat their Tom Yum Pork Noodles. There are 2 stalls side by side, manned by different brothers. They both taste almost the same.

7pm: Was suppose to eat at Jay Fai but it was closed for 3 days!!! Boohoo...so just a few steps down the street, we ate at Thipsamai (Michelin Bib Gourmand). Thipsamai is famous for their Pad Thai.

Grabbing a taxi back to the hotel was so difficult during peak hours, no taxi wanted to bring us back to the Pratunam area. In the end, we travelled like a local  -tuk tuk! And it was one of the fun things to do with the kids. They all enjoyed the ride.

Back in our hotel room, after watching telly for awhile, Hubs decided to go downstairs convenience store to get us some beer. Hubs got caught in the rain while getting our supper, so it took him almost an hour to come back. But the cart food was super yummy! Thanks hubby!
