To be honest, all my sambal dishes, I use Lee Kum Kee sambal sauce! Here's how I do cook it, sambal kangkang, sambal squid, sambal whatever.
- 1 tbsp of Sambal sauce
- 1 clove minced garlic
- 3 cloves shallots
- sugar
- Heat up wok or frying pan. Add a little oil, fry shallots and garlic till aromatic.
- Add squid (flower cut or rings), add 1 tbsp sambal sauce, water and simmer for 2-5mins. Add sugar to taste. I add sugar because my children can't take too much original sambal spice.
- Garnish with coriander and serve hot!
- Drizzle fresh lime juice for tangy taste!
