Supper | Xiao Long Bao

My girlfriend introduce me to Redmart Premium Xiao Long Baos, she told me that her son and herself love this xiao long bao which is quite similar to Din Tai Fung's version! So I also went and buy it for myself to try. Not bad at all!

Dinner at Ichiban Boshi Great World

Hubs' birthday is just around the corner and my parents wanted to give him a dinner treat. So here we are at Ichiban boshi for Japanese food.

Birthday Staycation at Village Hotel Sentosa

Our stay at Village Hotel Sentosa was pleasant. Breakfast can be quite busy and crowded. When we stayed over in the month of February, there were many tourists from Korea. At 830am breakfast area.  queues are already forming outside to get into the area and the egg station was literally not possible to queue at all!

But there was enough variety to skip our eggs and have porridge, nasi lemak, cold cuts and salad instead. We are not very fussy eaters....so after our breakfast, we headed over to the swimming pools! And basically spent the remaining morning hours there before we checked out.

Birthday Staycation at Village Hotel Sentosa

One of the few reasons why I was keen to stay at Village hotel Sentosa was not only that they are family orientated and new hotel with 5 different swimming pools to boast about, movie screenings, free shuttle to Patong Beach but it also mean that I'm so close to the recently installed Family of Giants by Thomas Dambo!!! Today's itinerary up on the list, straight after breakfast was to go visit the Giants! Followed by swimming, dinner at Malaysia's Foodstreet

Here's us in the Village Hotel free shuttle service and we are going to stop by the beach! some parts of Sentosa were undergoing serious renovations so it was quite difficult to get to the beach front. There's a poster/billboard on the Giants straight outside the dysfunctional Kidzania. There's a QR code to guide you through your exploration of the Giants, but hmm...best way to find them is actually to google them online.
So the closest one to us was situated at the southern most tip of the island and we had to get to it through a bridge.

Ta-duh! here we are at the Southern most point of Continental Asia. And there is photo-point where the kids are standing and you can see the giant in the background.
Life's a beach at Sentosa, filled with many swings fronting the beach. They are nice but also quite rickety.
Next up, just along the sunny beach is another friendly giant.
Ok, this one with a heart shape necklace was hidden right at a corner of the beach!!!
The last one is actually at the opposite end of where we started from, so we hopped onto the free tram and headed back...
At the end of the tram ride, there was an outdoor festival or bazaar going on, with huge ass fan blowing bubbles, pop up stores selling all sorts of handmade items, doggy snacks, balloon making etc. Many were walking their dogs too.
Finally found our last Giant holding a huge bouquet of plastic bottles. Nice. Back at the hotel lobby, the kids went to the counter to get "sword" balloons...and smacking each other with it.
3pm: To the swimming pool!! there is a lazy river where you will need your own floats for a lazy ride. There are no lifeguards around, so play safe!

The kids pool is very popular with the little ones with 2 mini slides and a splash pod (a round area with many water jets)
At the perimeter of the kids pools, there are many water jets too. With sundeck chairs for parents.
After the swim, the little ones were very hungry so each had a cup noodle for snack.
Below: Jade having her cup noodle which looks like the BIG cup noodle, but actually it is just the normal sized ones.
Once the kids are fed, the adults are hungry. I wanted to visit the Malaysia Food Street for some hearty meals, but sad to say only half the foodstalls were opened. Gone were the crowded and bustling days of the Malaysia Food street where it was jam packed with people at all times of the day.
Above: What we managed to eat. Claypot rice, Kang Kong with cuttlefish and prata.
Brought the kids to the LEGO shop to walk walk.
Dinner at Putien. It was quite a wait, but the food is still good!

Back to our hotel where they were screening a movie at the swimming pool deck.
