It is our 2nd year making Chinese New Year goodies. This time round, the kids did much better than the year before. These are normal sugar cookies. And after baking the first batch, I realised they look much prettier if they are not too brown. So do keep a lookout during your baking and when you see the edges turning brown, it's time to take them out from the oven.
Today looks quite gloomy for a bake, but it didn't dampen the kids' mood. Anytime, any day is always a good time for them! The kids are always ready for baking, but not so much for me. haha, it's always alot of work and cleaning up on my part.
But, I'm always happy to see them enjoying themselves, though Jade and James had little patience and went somewhere else to play after cutting some cookie dough out. Jules being the eldest, did all the rolling and cookie cutting. He really did a good job and I could see his patience and determination in this exercise.

above: Jules did all the cookie cutting and a job well done is getting the molds out so clean and clear.
