8D7N Korea - Seoul and Busan | Day 7 | TAEJONGDAE & Danubi Train

Hello! it's already our last day in Korea! How time flies when we are travelling with little ones. Today we are visiting Taejongdae Resort Park where its famous for its Observatory tower and Yeongdo Lighthouse. The kids are also very excited to board the Danube train which is so cute and makes travelling around the nature park so much easier and quicker when you have little ones with you.

Just to let everyone know that Taejongdae Park is not a theme park but it's like a really big evergreen park for walking, strolling and enjoying the scenic views along the coastal line. So it's really recommended for nature lovers!
First stop was breakfast at Egg Drop which was within walking distance from our hotel. Needless to say, their scrambled eggs were made to perfection and oh-so-fluffy!!! The kids totally ate up my whole sandwich.

We took a subway to Nampo station and got ourselves a cab to Taejongdae Resort Park.
above: Jules standing in front of the Danubi train, so cute and colourful.
When we arrived, we bought the train tickets and there was still some time before hopping on board. The weather was very windy and slightly chilly, so we bought a bowl of fishsticks for the kids to share.
above: Jules James and Jade sharing their bowl of fishsticks..unfortunately one of the fishballs rolled away and Jade was so upset about it. We all had a good laugh though.

above: Look at the amazing view!!! it was breathtaking just looking at the vast sea!

above: any empty ground is always a good place to piggyback onto each other.

we decided to walk a part of the danube train route since the next stop was quite near.

we had a good 3 hours around the Park, breathing in lots of fresh cold air and it was truly refreshing. After visiting Taejongdae Park, we headed back to the city for last minute shopping.

macaroons for 1000won; so cheap!
Back to Gukje Market to search for dinner. The area is so huge, we just simply walk and discover on the way. I bought some hair pins for Jade for 1000 won each, they were so lovely and intricate! Easily in Singapore would have cost me $3 and above. So i was very pleased with my little loot that afternoon. haha.

We found a little stall serving local food like gimbap, mando, cold buckwheat noodles and such. They served free flow of tea too.

OMG, on the way back to our hotel, we decided to take a different route back and look what we found! A jokbal restaurant that was filled with locals!!! so we immediately thought to ourselves that it shouldn't be bad if it is full housed.
Tabao jokbal back to the hotel room for supper.. the kids where so happy!!!

Our trip to Korea were full of walking and lots of eating. A trip made with lots of happy memories and I hope everyone tries to bring their loved ones to Korea for some good Korean food and lots of shopping cos we totally love KOREA and especially Seoul!

8D7N Korea - Seoul and Busan | Day 6 | SEALIFE BUSAN

Good morning Busan!!
In Busan, you should try their Pork Bone Soup with Rice and there's one really really famous one that is within walking distance from our hotel. Recommending -

Songjeong 3 Generations Rice Soup (송정3대국밥)

This old restaurant is located in one of the busiest business district - Songjeong. It is located near Busan’s extremely lively “Seogu Station.” In the western market, there is an alley dedicated to pork soup rice restaurant! The entire street is lined up with many pork rice soup restaurants, but "Songjeong three-generation pork soup rice" restaurant has the longest history. This restaurant has been around since 1946! And it came highly recommended by our hotel reception.

above: although it is a rainy day in the morning, there was already a queue forming outside just to eat pork bone soup. So we waited for about 20 mins and we are inside the restaurant. On such a cold and rainy weather, nothing beats something soupy and hot in our stomachs!!!
Above: our kids got free soup with rice! There's some salt and shrimp by the side to add more flavour to your soup if you think it is too blend. The broth itself is very rich with the pork bone.

How to eat Busan pork rice soup: The local Busan people always add a lot of leek and pepper to the soup before they start eating it. The leek and pepper lighten the taste and removes the "porky taste" from the soup.
Once the kids had their fill, we made our way to the subways and hopped onto our ride. Today we are visiting SEA World Busan! When travelling with kids, it is always good to space out your activities such that the kids get to "rest" either one day and the next day you make a walking trip or have at least half a day where the kids gets to rest somewhere like a playground.

And SEA WORLD Busan is just the perfect place for a cold and rainy weather because it is totally indoors! The kids were just excited to see the different marine forms. Jules able to read already, benefitted most from this expedition because he could identify many different sea creatures and read up on them. James could at least spot out the big and easy fishes while Jade were just watching the fishes and being thrilled by all the huge manta rays, sea turtles and sharks!

In Sea World Busan, there are several photo booths with costumes provided (FREE!) for you and your family to take photos! Isn't it wonderful? We had so much fun dressing up and posing!

above: Our super duper cut family photo where everyone dressed up as a sea creature. Can you guess which creature each one of us is? hahaha
above: Photo Booth Swing - There's a really pretty swing with many fishes swimming in front of us. This particular one is very popular and we had to queue for it.
above: there is a whole section on glowing sea creatures and they even have goggles for children to view the sea creatures.

above: The kids adored the cute wriggly garden eels.

Above: huge sea turtle swimming above us as we walk through the tunnel

Once you have visited the sea creatures, right at the end, there is ball pit playground and snow globe photo booths to complete your day visit! The kids were so surprised to find a playground here!!! We spent a good 1 hour before I had to drag them out for dinner.

FISHCAKES - a well known snack in Busan
Dinner was at Goraesa Eomuk Haeundae which is just walking distance from SEA WORLD Busan. By this time, the kids were quite tired and all ready to eat something quick. This fast food restaurant is located right in the heart of Haeundae Street.

You can choose from many different kinds of fish cakes. Hubs and the boys walked many rounds by the counter and looking at the wide spread of variety! How to Buy: Take a tray, pick your fishcakes, pay your fishcakes by the cashier and you can heat up your fishcakes by the microwave.

There is also a counter to get free flow of fish cake soup where the locals drink to keep their bodies warm.
above: Did you really think we will just settle fish cakes for dinner? hahah...no. We are back in our hotel where they also serve dine-in fried chicken with beer!!!

In Busan, eating fried chicken with beer is very popular and so the hotel also helps to call dine-in for tourists! We ordered a box of spicy fried chicken and another box of Soy Sauce fried chicken for the kids. It was gone in matter of minutes. A definite must try for the experience!!! The kids were very excited, waiting in their room for the door bell to ring and to get their fried chicken. When the door bell rang, they were jumping in excitement!
